So you would think I would be elated today.  Prop 8 down and Section 3 of DOMA unconstitutional.  Any opinion that leads “Scalia, Roberts, Thomas and Alito  dissenting” is a win.  But I’m not sure that anything other than common sense has prevailed here.  Because prior decisions lead to skepticism, I remain cautious, but optimistically cautious.  I continue to be worried about the Full Faith and Credit portion of DOMA, which lives.  What good is a marriage in California if you can never retire to Arizona or Florida and have those marital rights honored?  I’ve blogged before about that mess, but the opinion today was clearly limited.   More to come, but I am currently ambivalent pending further reflection.   Blergh.
